Guys, I will settle this. Just send me a Pulsar xd50 2x 384, an Armasight Zeus 640 3x 75 (old firmware), an Armasight zeus640 3x 75 (new firmware), Armasight Zeus HD 640 3x 75, a pair of Mod 3 goggles or whatever theyre called, and an extra pvs 14 w/ mounting system to run them both (i guess ill go ahead and use my own pvs-14 for the other eye..... this time.. bc thats just the kind of guy i am). And as soon as im done "thoroughly" comparing them (no telling how long that could take... because i want to be precise, obviously), Ill send them back to y'all and post detailed results of my observations. And just to prove that theres no bias, if any of the guys on the forum near houston who have property and hogs want to "help" me compare them on som live 4 legged targets, i will even drive out to that members land to conduct said experiments and comparisons. Ill even run through the woods for louis with the mod 3s and then with the dual pvs-14s. And if too much time has gone by and theres a whole new round of technology and equipment that blows this stuff out of the water, I will just keep them so yall dont have to suffer with this old outdated crap. Plus that would prevent any kind of arguments from taking away from the awesomeness of this forum. Seriously, I would do that for all of Y'ALL. Y'all can thank me later.

... If that gets you panties in a wad so be it. ...

I hope the new Armasight software upgrade gets them back in the game !! Had I known about it I might have held on to the Zeus and waited on it ... but after all there is always something better down the pike ...

==

... send me a Pulsar xd50 2x 384 ...
If you can get the other gear lined up ... and set a fixed timetable for the eval ... I will contribute my xd50a to your idea. :)

Guys, I will settle this.

:p There is nothing to settle here. Again my comments here are in reference to his comment on the 50mm pulsar looking better than the new 75mm HD

Haha I just sold mine ... I hope the new owner enjoys the new firmware !!! :)

Still not sure it is better than the Apex ... but it looks like it is better than it was ...

Even with the resolution loss of uploading to youtube it still looks better than any xd50 I have ever seen as it should, again they are not even in the same class.

I understand when you spend your hard earned dollars on something you want to convince yourself it was a wise decision. And again I am ok with people sharing their opinions on all thermals that is what this place is for. But when a blatantly wrong/false statement is made that I know for a fact is wrong, then I will point it out.

If you get butt hurt over that so be it.

The bold part is so true!! Hahah. The pulsar xd50A is a good scope for the money, my friend got one for a really good price. It still prefer the 640x480 - 42mm thermal I have access to for scouting.

What happened to trying things which you're curious about and finding out what works best for your needs? Stuff like this is just soooo subjective. It's really "Ok" to use/experiment with your gear and find out what works best for you.

That a yes or a no??? LOL That would've been less words :)

Because there's always a starting point. Why start with glasses to figure out whether that works for me, if nobody wears glasses!

First you start with the correct way to do things, then you deviate according to your needs or wants for it but there's always knowing the correct way first

Yes, and that starting point is to read your owner's manual, picking your gear up and getting some hands-on familiarization with it as you read the manual's content... and then going outside and EXPERIMENTING with your gear to see how it best suits your needs.

A number of hunters (here) have given you some very good/correct input on thermal/night vision gear, and how it's used. However, that doesn't seem to deter you from telling us all how their use isn't in tune with how you intend to use it. (Know what I mean jelly-bean?)

I think you're reading in between the lines and connecting dots that shouldn't be connected. Why do you assume I didn't read my manual? I didn't ask what was the correct way. I asked how many people actually do this and there's a difference. The manual tells you site in your Ar15 at 25 yards for 100. But how many people actually do that?

No, not really following you. Any examples of that? Or is this total guesswork?
Well... I recall reading how the input you received from hunters here weren't in sync with your intended uses... such as shooting prone (opposed to standing with a tri-pod). I recall reading how you want to be able to run through the forest in the dark of night (which, to this day triggers visions for me of the movie trailer for "The Blair Witch Project" LOL). There's a couple of recent examples from right off the top of my head, where you received some very good/correct input from others, but, you were clear that your needs were different... so... it needed much more discussion. Well... my suggestion is, rather than coming on here with very subjective things (questions) on your mind... why not FIRST go USE/EXPERIMENT and then come back here and offer up a "hey guys, I've found that this does/doesn't work for me... for these reasons".

I mean (seriously)... everyone's eyes work differently. What works for one, may/may not work for another. It's NOT as if your gear is booby-trapped with a spring loaded sharp spike that's gonna impale your brain if you take a risk and try it w/o your glasses after trying it WITH your glasses. (Or? M'be it is...)

Because I don't recall ever telling anybody on here that their way is wrong and mine is right.

Well.... you've actually confirmed my whole point here (with your replies to me). You asked a very subjective question. I offered you some true/correct input on the matter. But, you've decided that my input doesn't suit your needs, therefore, you dismiss my input and want to discuss what suits your needs. The pattern is like a needle skipping on a scratched vinyl.

The conversation could very well go like this (and fit the pattern):

"I'm hungry. Spoon feed me something."

"Ok, here's some carrots"

"But, carrots are orange, and they grow under the soil. I don't eat orange things which grow under the soil. But, peas are green, and they grow above the soil, and they're encased in a protective/green shell." Let's talk about how peas are best eaten."

Well... nuttin' wrong with peas, but carrots are just fine too. In fact, they kind of go together quite well. Bring your peas, accept some else's carrots and savor both.

My mother always told me "eat your carrots they help you see in the dark.".
Guess if I had listened I would not need all this equipment! :p
