I hear ya, DRC. Too many chores, not enough boars.

Had elbow surgery last week and am hurtin' for some night sky and cordite. Arm will be in a sling for another week.

I keep telling my wife that I'm fine "just to guide and spot", but she's a nurse and on me like TLM on a lead sow.

Tick tock...

IMG_20150206_185957.jpg Been a busy couple weeks at work but finally got some hunting in. I saw a group of 11 and made my way in close enough to get this boar first......

I have to admit it was nice to get the 2x drt's last Sunday. However a shot taken while a hog is on the run is way to much fun. It was just like out of one of TLM's videos. I've read and heard people talk about the "thwap" sound the bullet makes upon impact, but up until last night, I had yet to hear it myself. This sow measured out @ 43". Not the 250 pounder I was hoping for, but a nice one just the same.

My tally for last weekend was 6 pigs - 3 on Friday night and 3 on Saturday night. These were my first kills with the aid of thermal technology (Eotech X320) and I would have not spotted either group without it. The thermal spotter rocks - already saving up scratch for a thermal sight. Also, got a "double front somersault windmill" kill on one of the smaller ones that was running full blast. That was neat.
