Is that an RXQ? I love this stank out of mine I'm really interested to see what it's like when we drop the heat and humidity going on down here in south FL. 945 last night full moon and the RXQ called them out, the 308 barked and bang bang
Yup that would be the RXQ I love mine only problem is now my Seargent bought a trail, and I shall not be out done!! But on another note the humidity seems to effect the RXQ pretty bad but not bad enough to ID animals.

All my shots have been maybe 50 yards so range of detection/ID have not been too big of a deal really thus far. Had a 130 yard shot a month ago and I def knew he was a nasty boar. Finally got to stretch it out a little more last Friday night. Was just about to head home and came up into a field and a lone boar had made me and was ripping across the field. Actually didn't spot him with thermal he ran 20 yards in front of the bumper of the truck across a road and a near full moon Was hand scanning so slammed it in park, jumped out ran to the passenger side and grabbed the rifle. Hog is still running.....not top speed, but he's on a mission to vacate the zip code. Get the scope mounted and take a rip at his back side quartering away and put one right in the top of the back....KEEPS RUNNING, turns sideways and what right in the neck. 158 yards best night shot to date for me. One less corn thief....he was about 100 yards from my private feeder death to him I say! Look at that gut hanging out.....he kept running with that damage.

We had a couple of local boys on the property delivering our first load of corn for bow season so let them take this ol boy home for dinner.

Is that a six8 or 308 cuz that's some narly stuff right there, still have yet to fire a single shot with the whole rig but I just hang out the window and use the thermal to guide the truck to yotes in the fields, it's nice having a really cheap brush guard you don't care about!!

308 with FMJ's. I've used some Hornady American Whitetail 150's before, but it's a waste of ammo the FMJ's blow them apart already for less than half the cost. I mean how much more damage do I need? The intestines laying out had to have been a ricochet off bone to come out the bottom b/c he was quartered away.

I have had amazing performances on hogs with fmj's with... and don't laugh! The MOSIN NAGANT, yes it's true I have found the secret that is cost effective hog killing, at $90 for 880 rounds cheapest hog rifle around. And who cares if you drop it in the mud or wack it against a tree, hell if you got a wounded one you can convert your hunting rifle into a club and just beat them to death with it!

Never laugh that is a great rifle it's gets bashed on a lot. It's not going to win an F class rifle match, but it will put it in the vital zone. I use Wolf quite often and will be getting another gross of the Wolf Soft Point 140g those are just as devastating as the top of the line Hornady round for about 35 cents/round delivered at SGAmmo

You know there are some great ingenious pic rail mounts for the Mosin....that would be awesome to see some Pulsar kills on that!

When invited to a "big hog" hunt . . . make sure to bring enough gun.
This is my 10ga "carbine". Started out as a 28" NEF shotgun. Chopped bbl to 18",cut stock to 13.5" LOP,and removed steel rod that was added at factory for weight. (Who needs to dampen the recoil anyway ??)
It will sling a 766gr slug at 1250fps and cut a 3/4" hole going in. --- pruhdlr DSC00711.JPG

When setting it up,I worried about inertia ripping the scope off so I had the gunsmith drill and tap two more holes for the base which is a steel base from EGW. I then lapped the base to the bbl. After the base fit the bbl good,I torqued down all 6 screws using blue LocTite.
I tried several scopes but was worried about haveing to go to the ER and have a scope surgically removed from my eye socket.
The fix - - -> Since this is a 40yd gun anyway . . . a small open red dot sight. Works great. Can put 3 shots into a 3" circle at 40yds and one hole (large hole) group at 25.
Recoil . . . ? . . . a very heavy push more than a snap. Not as bad as my 416Rigby. --- pruhdlr

well, got in my stamp yesterday for my SBR, so will have pics up of them shortly when I configure the gun, I had the lower I registered in the safe the whole time

but here is my main hog hunting rig, a 7.62x40WT, Wilson Combat Whisper suppressor, PVS-14 with 3x magnifier looking through an Eotech:

I also use my 6.8 with Pulsar N750 (pic shows when I had the N550 installed), I like the option of recording the hunts for hogs, it now has a suppressor mount so I could quiet it down at night:

DaveABQ how do you like your POF in 6.8? Waiting on my to arrive at my FFL, mine is an older model with the 11sx rail with a 14.5 barrel.
