Certainly gives me pause to think I stalk up on these guys to within 50 yards and we are both standing on the same patch of ground. May have to rethink how close I stalk and maybe make sure I have an escape plan in case the 6.8 jams and/or the thermal fails.

I left his ornery butt for the buzzards, I picked up his skull a few weeks later and it was still snapping at me, had to put it in a bucket with a stick. I buried the whole thing in my back yard and if the wind is right I can walk out my back porch and still hear it trying to get out!

Love that natural patina from being buried... why not turn it into a European mount as is?

Hogs serve just about no purpose on this earth. I've heard they can even take bites from Copper Heads and Cottonmouths and keep going.

Jason, they do kill every snake they come across, that is why in swamps at our lease we seldom see snakes

Do you guys know if a hog would eat a dead carcus of an animal? Say a coon or such. I always wondered that.

They and the yotes along with buzzards eat every carcass left out in 24 hrs.... it is all gone

I have shot hogs fighting over pieces of a fawn once. I shot a coyote and the next night at dark 3-4 hogs came out to chow down on him. But....I have stacked up Raccoons in my hog areas that I trapped and shot and have never had a coon touched by a hog...strange.
