I will be experimenting with a Viridian "stand alone" laser sight on a small little carbine gun in a few weeks. I am interested in the shot to shot durability and the dot remaining on the POI. Also the "realistic" range in both full sun and during the hours of darkness and twilight. I have been talking to some other shooters about this and while they all say this "could" be a good idea(under certain conditions)no one has ACTUALLY done this.

I believe it will be mounted on the top pic rail over the receiver....however....if so,this will obviously interfere with a proper cheek weld. I will also have a forearm option in either the 3,6,or 9 o'clock position. I could also "co-witness" the laser with a 1-4X24 Leupold but I really want this to be a laser ONLY project. If a powered scope is used it will be used to help see where the dot is located on the target at the "longer" ranges. If this will be doable at 75-100yds this will satisfy my usage. --- pruhdlr
