yes FL deer are mismanaged and the genetics are bad.

There are also 3 different subspecies of WTD in Florida if I remember correctly, one of which is most notably characterized as being the smallest in body and antler size. This (multiple subspecies) is not unique to Florida, but it can create complications for hunters when comparing deer from one area to another.

I have no idea as to the management of the species on a state or local level over there but if what Frank suggests is true, mismanagement can definately cause issues.

limit is 2 buck a day, 4 in possession, not tags or records and legal buck has a 5" spike on 1 side. We have sand soil, few minerals, leases are on top of each other, Ours is a 6pt minimum, dog hunting club within 3 miles and they kill everything they can run.

it also doesn't help the number of people i have heard talk about how fish and game never show up so they just kill deer all year

Yeah there is very little control, 5 years and i have never seen a game warden.
