The fun part was dragging it about one mile down the mountain. With the adrenaline pumping, I felt like the hulk.

Sure beats dragging him UP and over a ridge before the DOWN hill part. LOL

It wasn't all down hill. The trail had some up parts, but it was all good.

I've been having to live vicariously through u guys lately. From losing the property I had access to near houston, to opening a new sports bar, to family stuff, life and moving, I haven't hunted since June :/ hopefully soon.. Oh sigh but glad yall r all still whackin and stackin em.

Went out last night to do a little midweek hog hunting. Altogether we put 6 pigs in the truck and a yotes. Hit 4 more for sure that made into the thick brush or the river and were not recovered. I shot 4 of the recovered and had one make it to the river.

I went to the pasture last night that I took Chopper to on Friday night where he killed his hog. I had been hunting earlier and saw nothing. I drove by and scanned the field. Two hogs and several piglets were standing about sixty yards in front of me. I killed the first and the other and piglets took off towards the cows. They finally turned away from the cows at about 150 yards and I shot the other large hog. He ran to the far end of the field and did the Curly Shuffle so I thought. I went to the landowners house and told him I had two down. He was happy and told me to go get some more. When I pulled up to the gate several hogs were milling about right in front of the gate. I got out of my truck and walked around the front to the gate. There was a creep feeder for the cattle about 30 yards away with close to 30 hogs just going to town on the feed. Unfortunately there was also about 30 cows around also. I waited until the hogs cleared the cows and took one out. The others ran directly away and finally turned away from the cows about 150 to 200 yards out. I shot one more but it was able to cross the road with the others. I went into the field to recover the hogs and saw a hog throwing dirt in the air at the far end. I stalked up and I was the second one I shot trying to get up. One more round and he was done. Oh well three in hand in less than five minutes.
