This was my first hunt with my new Silencerco Omega suppressor and it worked quite nicely.
I hunted with Dave, Colorado Brian, and Paul on Saturday night up in Montague County. It was a good hunt. We got into hogs 3 times, each with its own challenges, some of which where situational (stalking, cattle, etc.) and some were technical (DVR issues, malfunction). It all worked out in the end.
At the end of the hunt, we got on to a small sounder and managed to take out 3/4s of the hogs. This was the same field we hunted the previous week where we took out two pregnant sows, the field that had over 20 acres of rooting damage. Well, in the week that has passed, the rooting damage is more extensive and covers a larger area, only a whole bunch of hogs won't be coming back.
All 8 of the hogs from the smaller hogs from sounder are being utilized fully for food and backstraps were taken from the largest boar (#9). Only the two lone boars were donated to the Turkey Buzzard Preservation Society.
