ive decided to start making pork sausage and I need to purchase a grinder. I guess I'm going to buy an electric model that has the ability to also make links. I'm interested in your opinions on good and bad features to have and specific models that you've been happy with.

Pro Cut is the brand name of the grinder we have used for several years. Have been very pleased with it. Their 1 horsepower runs on 110 volts and does everything we need it to do.

If you already have a Kitchenaid Stand mixer... they have attachments for them.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I wasn't happy with my Kitchenaid grinder attachment. It was very slow and would frequently stall out. I ended up getting a Cabelas Carnivore 1hp unit, I mainly went with them because of their lifetime warranty. Most of the other grinder companies only offer 1 year warranties

LEM are the best I have seen or heard of, buy the most powerful you can afford! None of the $99 one will work well but they will handle small amounts till they get burned out and are an ok place to start to teach you that your first should have been a LEM Big Bite as big as you could afford! Will post a link but shop around for a better price, You need at least a .5 HP and preferably a .75-1. You get what you pay for like everything else.
