Buying 1st Thermal Question

I shoot between 30 yds out to 200 yds which would work best 2.5x 35mm objective or 3x with 75mm objective. The scope it's self will be a 640

As far as the best field of view. I'm some what confused. Some if I understand it say the biggger the objective the less field of view.

To me if you have a 2.5x with 35mm obj. and 3x with a 75mm obj it should pretty much be the same fov.

Would these work at 30 yds

You would think so I find the 75mm 3x way more usable. With the 2x hogs at 50 yards look a long ways out to me.

One more thing. There's a post over on ar15.com about the Armasight 75mm he's having a problem with running out of adjustment when bore sighting it.

He said he ran out of adjustment and it's still shooting 2 inches high. Another member suggested putting a shim under base. That's beside the fact.

Anybody have any knowledge of this with 75mm scopes

I've got the armasight ordered at optics planet but I have to send the itar form back or they will cancel order. So I'm kinda up in the air on this with what I've read over there about the 75mm scopes. But I figured you guys would know more with your experience than most of them over there.

I had the armasight 42mm and when I was zeroing it in I barely had to make any adjustments at all. I haven't heard of many people having this problem, but shims will work as I have used those on other scopes that ran out of adjustment.

I really wouldn't worry about it op. Never had the issue with 3 armasights I have.

I have experience with the Armasight Predator 336 2-8X25 and the Zeus 640 3-24X75...stick with the 75mm. The optical quality and clarity with this unit is fantastic. You have enough detail to identify targets w/o ever having to second guess what you are looking at. The unit is rock solid for everything from close range (30-40 yd) stalk/ambush hunting to longer (100-200 yd) shooting over corn, grain, ect. I haven't had any issue sighting in the 75mm on multiple guns.

I don't recall what firmware the Predator had, but that unit was awful and I finally returned it. The image quality was unusable.

Done deal bought and paid for new 3x24x75 640 30 hz Zeus with battery pack 5500.00 shipped that leaves me enough now to go crossed eyed looking for a good but inexpensive thermal mono
