Was in East Texas this weekend helping a friend clear some hogs and we can up to a 4 pack of hogs. Both of our first shots dropped both pigs at 50 yds and then I knocked the third one down on the run. The fourth got away. But after approaching each one we noticed they were all Barrow hogs. First time I've seen that. They will definitely be some good eating. We both are shooting .223 75gr steel case hp. 20200605_230936.jpg 20200605_231105.jpg

Nice eating hogs. If you are into that. I know of some hog hunters in this area that hunt from horses with dogs. When they catch a boar, they just cut him and let him go. The sows just get released. They hunt on public land and think if they kill them all, they would be out of business soon. I think they are a bit overconfident in their abilities.

That's cool. I have only seen a couple of those out and about.

Chaps my arse that folks catch, cut, and release.

Interesting! A few years ago I caught one in a trap.
It weighed 295, and is the largest hog taken on that property so far.
    Good work!

Good hogs down!! Someone probably trapped them when they were piglets and then "cut" them.

Almost every decent-sized hog I killed in 2018-2019 had either the ears notched, or were castrated.

Local lowlife turning them loose nearby after they are caught, and then charging people to come hunt with them.

Yes me too. I talked to the guy who told me he traps them and then releases them on his property to hunt! I was blown away. Makes no sense
