Reap-ir with DVR issues

i just got a Dvr unit to go with my thermal, but after trying numerous times and settings it is only recording 1/4 the screen (low left)...
I have the Reap at 30hz, video out on, different resolutions on the DVR, etc..

Any ideas?

I believe it will only record in 60hz. Try that.

This is how I have mine set. Pretty sure the other settings on the DVR wouldn't affect anything.

Recorder settings>
Mode- video
Motion detection-off
Sensitivity- high
Resolution- 720x576
Video quality- high
Frame rate- 30 fps
Overwrite- off

System setting>
Video output- LCD
(Version- B357.13.01.15)



Reap-IR
Frame rate- 60 hz
Video output- on

I have all that set the same and same issue..

The firmware on the DVR is B257.15.12.10

Make sure the cords on both ends are all the way plugged in?

And that the cord is plugged into the front of the mdvr between the record/stop switch and the on/off switch

Set it to 60 hz

I just got my reap today and been playing around with it. I noticed that when I have a cable plugged in and I switch video out to the on position the picture on the shore gets noticeably worse. Has anyone experienced this same issue and is it normal?

Thanks to all, I got it resolved...

Though I do wounder why the DVR is set to 30 hz, but the Reap needs to be 60 hz..
Glad I have backup battery packs if I have to run at 60...

Rgilbert- the picture in the scope looks the same on video mode, but the captured video is not even close to the picture in the scope..

Wounder if a more shielded cable or a ferret around it would help any ?

I don't think you have to run on 60 hz, some just think you get a better video. I have the MK II and use 30 hz even when recording and it looks just fine.

I think I had a similar issue a while back with the DVR screen. It might have been the 60hz vs 30hz setting on mine also.

The max for the DVR (mine) is 30, and I wasn't getting video until I set scope to 60...

It will never be. Sorry that is my only complaint about the IRD units. I can live with covering the lens while nuking.
