Im in the market for a revolver or semi auto in 357mag or 10mm to have on my side while tracking wounded hogs at night (Or any other time)

What would you buy? Im thinking a 357mag revolver, 7 or 8 shot.

I have chosen the 10mm Glock 20. It has TruGlo Tritium sights for day and night use.

15 rounds of stop'em

Reminds of a bow hunting trip to Alaska for moose. I brought a 44 mag. for grizzly protection. My brother brought a 357. The guide told my brother that he should probably file off the front sight. When asked "why", guide said "then it won't hurt so bad when the bear shoves it up your _ _ _.

10mm semi auto for hogs is what I carry.

For bear, I would carry a 44 mag or 500, but I don't have that worry.

10mm for sure. 15 rounds in a Glock 20 versus 6 rounds in a 357, pretty easy choice.

10mm is just a hot 40, which I carry simply because of the 16+1. However you will see that there is much depending on the commercial mfgr of the round, weight in grains, velocity, etc. I see 10mm and .357's running similar balistics with different makes here: http://www.ballistics101.com/

Remember, they do make 8 shot revolvers....
I know more rounds is better,,But if you cant put him down with 8 shots, O well....

I find 'oh well' to be my least favorite plan
