I have one of the first MDVR's its showing some wear from field abuse over the years plus a cheap Sightmark 640 with custom made cables. I ordered the new Armasight HD and NightGoggles DVR's this week so I guess I will find out which one/ones which work best for me.

I have the Armasight HD been using it already seems very nice overall and the videos look great. I like the pic rail mount case that came with this package it's handier than the rifle butt stock mount for my use, but the UNV MDVR has a better push button remote to me. For some reason the Armasight HD remote blinks red brightly when recording not very stealth but one small strip of black tape fixes that easy I guess. There's already a recording red led on DVR so the remote led wasn't needed unless it's Christmas time.

The NIght Goggles mini DVR/cables I ordered are back ordered I was told 3 weeks to ship. Maybe I will get them in another week or two.

I beleive this charges through a USB port. Do you know if you can run if from a 5V power pack?
