Spied hogs from front gate. 500 yard hike to cross fence and noisy gate to get to hogs in next pasture. No way to get over the cross fence quietly especially since all the cattle are hanging out close to it. In fact, I spooked them each time I moved to try to get a better view of the hogs. Eventually, most of the sounder got tired of the restless cattle and sauntered off in no particular hurry. On the good side, the hogs were mostly behind the cattle and so I didn't have overpenetration or missed shot concerns about cattle being hit down range, but I did have concerns about cattle walking through my shot solution. So I let the sounder go, keeping an eye on a boar (0riginally, there were two) that seemed separate from the group. I managed to spook enough cattle away that some decent openings appeared between the cattle and when the last hog realized it was time to go, I just waited until he was in one of the gaps. It was a bonus that he came to a complete stop.
