Seems they have a 8.5 pound 16" AR10 now the DPMS recon. Since the .45 carbine was a disaster I feel I should try out something else for you guys. And I think the recon will be it! Not to mention I am very curious to see what a 165gr sst will do I can only imagine!!!!

Ok yea that is not the Recon that's the stripped down versions itch the light barrel. The recon GII is 8.5. It has the heavy barrel which is better for a suppressor. But either are pretty light for a .308 rifle!

The 165 is a great bullet. That is what I load for my 300 WSM. Pigs, deer, Aoudad and an Axis have all Been one shot DRT for me.

I've been interested in the GII recon too. It will probably be my next gas gun. I don't know when I'll get one, but its on the list.

Yea I think several manufacturers are trying to build lightweight larger platforms, and some just going to use DPMS parts, I can even buy Gen II spec 80% lowers already

for me a non issue with a full mag, stainless suppressor, Ir laser, illuminator, mdvr, and scope. With all that attached it should be close to the colt ar .308 and reports say the recoil is comparable to a 6.8.

Lawman; I will testify about the 165gr SST. It is devastating on hogs. I had a RRA .308 that accounted for a few hogs using that bullet and I use it exclusively in my .30-06. I have taken hog, mule deer, and elk with this bullet. I even broke your swinging hog head target with one of them. They hit like the hammer of Thor.
