silencing an 8mm, I have a question

So, I have a M1893 Turkish Mauser, got it for $200.00, with a sporterized stock and cut down barrel, I think its about 20 inches now.
I got it to learn disassembly, cleaning and shooting the Mauser action. Now I would like to have the barrel threaded and put a suppressor on it as I think it will do good as a hunting rifle, for whatever is out there... deer & hog mostly.

My question is, what is available and what thread should I use? ? was thinking 5/8-24 for the barrel thread.
I defer to the smarter people out there!!

**Edit** saw the silencer in 8.6, wondering if that is an option too?

5/8" x 24 is generally for the 6.8 SPC and for .30 cal application. You might want to do some research on the availability of an 8mm and/or 8.6mm and the cost of such. Might want to consider going with a 9mm offering for the threading as well as what's being offered for applicable pressures of each of those considerations and how that correlates with your M1893.
