Should I be worried?

Typically in south Texas a November day allows for shorts and shirt.
But it's been abnormally cooler and there is something happening I have never seen before.
All throughout the neighborhood the squirrels are in over drive hiding food.
I about hit 6 today, and I wasn't slowing down to miss either.
I watched 2 in someone's yard scraping the the ground like they were trying to get to china!!
I have never in 15 years of living here seen this before.
Cooler weather, could we be in for a colder than usual winter?!
Can anybody up north describe squirrel behavior during really cold months??

There is a huge artic front predicted to sweep all the way into Texas next tues/weds. Lows in the 20s for those nights.

If I still had my horses I could tell you by their coat. Anyone have any livestock? And are their coats thicker than usual?

We are predicting a colder winter here in Fl this year and an earlier start.

SACM (Squirrel Alert Coldfront Monitors). What real hunters pay attention too. ;)

The deer I took in Arkansas, a few days ago, had pretty thick coats compared to the ones last year.

Odd... normally, by now, they'd be starting on building our ice road. It's been SLOW to freeze up this year. When I left (two days ago), the water would roll in a wave ahead of the hovercraft as it approached shore, but the ice was finally holding together and keeping the water contained beneath.
