Finally got to take my m14 to the range and play with it. I bought this gun in May and due to rain a hurting my back I was just able to shoot her. This gun weights close to 12#. Heavy by today standards. The receiver is SA and the number puts her is the sweet spot of M14. At least that is what Wikipedia says. So who know. She is in the 048xxx. The gun was customized by Smith Enterprises. It has their gas block and match trigger group. It is also NP3 coated. I have old eyes but I wanted to give the peep sight a go since I could see the front sight blade pretty good. Man oh Man wow this gun shoots sweet. Recoil was very light for a 308 and maybe lighter that my POF 308. I am sure the weight helps. After 3 rds I was able to hit bullseye at fifty yards. I was using a CI 5 round mag. Mag did not cycle well I did go cheap and did not buy the SA mag. The bad thing about this mag is fit flush with gun and it hard to remove. The Old Iron Muzzle brake was amazing. I was standing off to the side when my friend was shooting and you could feel the blast wave roll over you. My POF 308 does not do that. The trigger was way good but has a little travel. I did learn a big lesson. This is the first side charging weapon I have ever shot or owned. Please watch where you put your thumb, as my finger nail is now half ripped off DANG lesson learned.

The furniture for things cost from $800 to $1,200 man that is serious money! Like buying a Accuracy International stock.
