I've been hanging 20 foot up a hickory tree for the past 3.5 hours in the rain with my bow. I had 7 does coming to me on a string and mad I dumb move.

I guess from hog hunting in the dark I've become complacent about fast movements. The lead doe spotted me reaching for my bow too fast and turned on the brakes. She did blow or run away though. She just changed direction. They will be back and I'll have backstrap next time. Just pissed at myself for the simple mistake.
