Found a friend with property 30 mins from me on the Brazos River with 370 acres. First time out scouting the property for me and showing him the NV/thermal. Saw this #180 boar in hay field that's been getting rooted up. Stalked to about 75 yards. Told friend to take him with thermal. He had issue chambering a round and the gun went "click" then when he tried to rechamber a round it jammed/double fed/the unseated cartridge didn't eject..(that may have been my fault by overloading the magazine, but I'm pretty sure I had filled the magazine and removed the top 2 rounds last week and hadn't touched it since.. Oh well). All this alerted the boar that I was holding on with the pvs-14/3x/eotech...Head on shot entered forehead, exited behind ear.

Great first night on a property that we might get to on a weekly basis, so hopefully I can start contributing to more dead hogs more often.

Nice, it sure makes it easier when it isn't an ordeal to get there and back.

Congrats on the close to home hunt property- the successful head shot- and most of all, Congrats on the dead Hog.

It is merely a flesh wound. Close to home hogs is a good thing! Nice shot!

That one's about a fire plug of a hog. Some nice cutters on him too. Congrats.

Tell him the longer he waits, the more grief it'll cost him. LOL
