So this is only my 2nd night vision scope. I used to own an ATN 6900 Crusader back in the day but sold it, and since I had a very limited budget went with this Sightmark Photon. Mounted it on my dad's LMT 6.8. Sight in was quick and easy, then I proceeded to take it out for the first time the same night...
This boar had been hitting the feeder solid for 3 weeks. Just after midnight I heard a faint rustling of leaves, fired up the scope and there he was @ 45 yards. First trigger pull on an animal using this setup and success! By the pictures I figured he would be in the 180lb range, and though he was a young boar I stretched the tape tight and he came in at 235lbs.
