That is really cool. Did you lance it to see what it was? It could have been a tumor, breakage with healing gone wrong, or something else really wild. Given the size and apparently molding/shaping of it for the hog to eat off the ground (flattened), it isn't just a run of the mill infection, but possible the reaction to the infection or other insult.
