He just don't play nice! Go put another hole in him and see if he gets the memo.

I thought he'd crumpled just over that ridge, but NO!

Wow. Looked like he was hit good. I’m glad the natural response is to run away and not charge the shooter. I think a lot less people would take the challenge of hog hunting.

Looked like a good hit to me too! It’s crazy how they can take a good hit and still get away.

I hate it when they go down like a rock and when you take your eyes off them, they disappear.

Not being critical of the shot. I would have taken the same shot as well, but I think you drifted slightly off target as the shot broke. This is the last frame of imagery I could get from the video before the shot broke.

Assuming you are spot on at this distance, my guess is that you hit below the brain case and the impact of the bullet on the maxilla or mandible wasn't enough to jar the brain enough for the hog to go down and stay down immediately. He may have died of a brain bleed or brain damage (post trauma swelling) sometime later, as in minutes or hours later.

I'm afraid you may be right. His head was really thrown back but not enough damage to anchor him. What video software do you use?

I use Filmora, but I have the older #8 and they are on #9 now and it works very differently than #8. :-(

For looking at your video, however, I just slowed it down to 0.25 speed and found the last frame before the disruption and took a screen shot of the image.
