so i have a lot of projects in various stages of build but my favorite one is getting closer. only waiting on 2 parts i ordered and 1 to get back from being machined. I ordered an 18" 458 socom barrel a while back and i finally got around to finishing it. i need a handguard and a charging handle. found a muzzle brake i really liked but it was a rough cut and needed the hole opened up to work with the socom. got a package in the mail today with my LPK and my stock. getting closer to do some testing.

I bet! What I want to know is how you can afford to feed that pig getter?? I looked into one and reloading for it sure is pricy unless you cast your own bullets and catch starline with brass at just the right time!

i got 500 pieces of brass long ago. i shoot a lot of 300gr remington HPs. i bought about 1000 when they were still super cheap. i think i have about 6000 bullets just for that one. every chance i get i buy large magnum rifle primers. i have about 4000. only thing i need to start looking for is powder. i have like 15 kinds and about a pound and 1/2 of each kind. i got lucky that i started to stockpile long before the craze hit. i load my 458's for about $0.30 each roughly

Oh that's not that bad. When I looked into (IIRC) I was seeing plinking loads reloaded for about 70/cents and lead-free (stupid CA law) hunting ammo for about 2.75/each. Looks like prices might have come down since I looked into it! Grats and keep the gun porn coming!

I find deals all the time on bullets. When I bought Remington 300gr hollow points they were so cheap in bulk. I think I paid like $16 per 100

Huh, ya I only priced out what midway had on hand, I didn't really hunt for deals. I wanted a brush gun to replace my 44mag carbine, got a 45acp pistol so Im going to try that for a little while and see how I do.

nice, I want to build up another 458 with a WC barrel, but they have a huge backorder, so guess I'll have to stick with my RRA gun, but it does shoot just over .5 MOA with 300gr TTSX

I have a 7.5" 6.8 Lothar barrel coming in for a friend and his pistol build. never ran across one before but came w the bolt and gas tube, hope it performs well.

I actually sold off 8 rifles in that sale. My original 458 included. I had to replace that one. I'm still slimming out the heard. I'm keeping the new lever action, the .458 socom, the 6.8 spc and the 338 win mag. Handguns I'm keeping the 1911
