I have probably the worlds worst organizing problem. I just throw everything in the truck and then did for it later. Now I understand that Im using more gear than most several rifles, scopes, cameras, batteries, shooting sticks, camera tripods, batteries , ect how do you guys keep it all organized??? Been thinking of a big pelican case not sure how that will work. I know HDFireman is ocd and over organised and has some goo storage ideas. Anyone else? Pictures would help also!

I have a tool box on the back of the truck and the back seat is all hunting related. I have a small pack and a large pack, both are ready to go. Then I get to the lease and it all goes to hell, especially after the hunt and all gets thrown into the truck. Trouble is I have sooo much gear I take with doubles and triples IF I remember where it is I can find it, otherwise it turns into a treasure hunt.

I would not be much help. The whole back seat of my truck looks like a storage room.

I actually had a friend ask me if I needed a place to stay after looking at the back seat of my truck. I assured him I had a home but not sure he was convinced. Multiple weapons and a case of water, enough clothes to go to Alaska or to a ballroom dance without going home. Don't start with all the ammo, binos, tripods etc....
Very organized with business but the truck is bad. I think it belongs that way.

Ok then its not just me. I keep my hunting truck ready to go all I have to do is throw in the valuable stuff guns, ammo, nv and its ready to go but looks like I live out of the truck. Thinking about getting a big pelican case for all the expensive stuff but Im sure it will all be unorganized again after the first hog.

I have thought a Van, like a F150 size w off road tires. That way shelves, hangers, boxes could all be as disorganized as my truck is now.

I have to say, I build stuff from metal. I have designed in my head the perfect rear compartment by removing the back seat and building sliding drawers etc... then I realized that it already has a lot of floor room, and a lot of stuff fits behind the seat. Also the seat that is already there makes for a great place to put stuff and people can ride there if need be also makes for a good place to sleep given that situation may arise at times. Also the doors lock and open with a remote control. I believe they have already designed the perfect area for all my stuff! Guess I will just use it the way it is.

I think I may just need a bigger truck then, go from my mid size Dakota to an F-150, so I can "organize" better.

I like an array of packs/bags to "kit" my things. Sometimes totes are nice (Rubbermaid) for hauling and keeping kits contained and dry... and can be used as tables too. For rifle cases, now that they can be had with wheels and tow handles, I have me one of those as well. 5.11 Tactical has some great new rolling duffles too now (S.O.M.S.=Some Of My Stuff, and the larger C.A.M.S.=Carries All My Stuff), which can be linked together and towed in a train fashion. Eagle Creek also makes a solidly constructed rolling soft luggage piece which comes with a detachable back-pack. Spend for quality name branded travel stuff, I've blown up more of the lesser costing stuff than I care to list. That stuff becomes trunk fodder for winter things that stay in the rig. Maxpedition also makes some nice stuff.

BTW, the "C.A.M.S." by 5.11 has a built in space to nestle a soft side rifle case (as designed). They have some decent Youtube of the system.

I use this bag as my all a round range/gun/hunting/ranch bag. http://www.nrastore.com/nrastore/ProductDetail.aspx?c=4&p=SA 21588

Depending on the task at hand I may add or subtract a couple items, but the majority of the stuff stays in the bag and has it's place. I wouldn't exactly say it's totally organized but I've memorized pretty much what goes in each pouch/compartment and it keeps all my $#!+ together as opposed to falling out the doors of the truck or left at someone else place/vehicle.

Here's what I keep in the main compartment (by the end of the hunt, this section usually has random stuff from other compartments that I'll put back in their respective sub compartments when I get home or before my next hunt)..
Pvs-14, 3x magnifier, and thermal monocular fit in the helmet with bird bag and camo jacket on top specifically for padding/protection from other stuff banging it and breaking them when in the back of the vehicle. I use the bird bag to carry thermal spotter, flashlights, batteries, water, etc when out in the field. Smaller compartments have too much stuff to list off and can be filled to suit individual needs. I do keep one of them empty to put beef jerky and power bars in for long nights.

The bag/kit idea is good. Makes it quick and portable, yet organized. Pelican case are nice, but can be hard to handle and bulky when loaded with to much stuff. I have one I store most of my ammo in and it weighs over 80 pounds.

I say bag it up. Put things like optics/nv/cameras all in one pouch with passing between them. Another pouch could hold ammo and mags, one for tools, one for food/drink. I would keep the tripods and rifle loose for easy access.

backback and rifle gun case. for winter i keep all my winter gear clothes in one bag. I got tired of looking for everything. Just keep it together all the time now.

I have a wheeled duffel I keep spares double and triple in but it stays in the bottom of my closet because it will not fit in the truck...lol I am glad some of you have organization in your life, I seem to be lacking in that area.
