Monday was travel day. The plan was to p/u my best friend, and take him to my cousin's place. Plans change, his battle with cancer kept him home, and doing doctor visits instead.
A drive over the pass to the east side of the State, and we met up with my younger cousins (daughters/grand daughter). Dinner in Chelan, and a room in Brewster.
O-dark-thirty, we're in the boat, and on the Columbia River. Chinook ("Kings") is the target, specifically, hatchery fish. "Wild" are off limits, as are the Sockeye.
Fish are jumping all around us, but not much of a bite on. A younger cousin needed help getting her 16lbs. fish in the boat, wore her out. The grandaughter lost three nice ones, finally landed a sockeye... which we had to release.
My cousin had broken a rib (or two) a couple of weeks ago, and was not in fish fighting form, so, he led the cheering.
I managed to land a 20lbs. (wild) King, which we had to release, and, managed to land a twin to the 16lbs. King (landed earlier).
After 8hrs. time on the water, the skipper called it quits.
I'm sharing mine with my friend, as well as a box of fresh, tree ripened peaches (mighty fine!).
