Very much so. No way I could fly as I do with a monitor. The immersive feeling of goggles is so much better.
Well maybe if I was sitting a few feet away from a big screen TV, but definitely not with a small monitor.

Woo Hoo !! My mini-copter should arrive to the job site around the 31st !!! Blade Pico XT The bigger one which I'll get to tinker with later, should be hitting my buddy's porch this weekend. Also ordered a fixed wing trainer from Hobby King. "Bixler", a mid engine, top wing foam plane. I'll probably be mounting my Go Pro to this one once I get the feel of the flight of this one. Still need to get me a little fixed wing to tinker with that goes really slow.
If you want a slow flier that's hard to hurt, http://www.crashtesthobby.com/ makes some good ones. Their wings are fast but the traditional style planes just float.
I know you would on break day. Everyone wants to ride on break day even when the weather is totally trashed. They want me to fly directly into thunderstorms. Recently a customer wanted to know we were going to leave when I couldn't even see the aircraft from the doorway of the office. I told him no time soon. He got a little huffy and wanted to why not. I told him because I wasn't ready to die yet and walked away. You just can't fix stupid.

I've been absorbing stuff from flitetest the past couple of days. Their kits are pretty reasonable. So are their multi-rotor frame kits. A good Youtube channel too.

Nope, not once. LOL I'm always finding something new to learn and try. I like hands on stuff.
They've got some good stuff and it's a fun channel to watch. I just met most of them about a month ago in Florida at a big FPV meet.
I flew over you into Orlando.
I haven't flown planes in a bunch of years, but I fly people out in the Gulf of Mexico to rigs and boats in helicopters.
