Should have taken the trash to the bear, probably would have woken up and thought it found the buffet line.

They're used to Grizzlies hanging out at the dump. Federal law mandates that when a polar bear dens, all work is stopped/diverted (road building too) to a 01 mile distance from the denned bear. Only sows birthing new cubs den.

That is smokin' fast! Is that one you built? And were you doing roll overs?

Yup, in that video I'm flying a frame that a couple buddies and I designed. It's powered by a power distribution board, basically a circuitboard that integrates the distribution of the power to the motors as well as voltage regulation, on the screen display, and general wiring clean up. Designing those boards has been one of my newer hobbies.

I still haven't mounted the GPS on it to verify how fast it's going. However I have another quad that I verified at 67 mph.… this one is faster.

What run time are you getting in this bird?

I'm using 4s 2200mah batteries on it and I tend to get about 4 minutes flying like this. Others are getting 6-8 minutes on a 3300mah 4s.

I find a break every few minutes calms the nerves after flying that fast and that low.

Also to give some perspective, that field is roughly 1/2 mile long and half that across.

yeah I can imagine it can fray the nerves a bit. So to get 30 min or hours of flight is impossible w these?

That's some quick flyin' right there. Love it.

It's very possible, but you have to use the right tool for the job. In this case you need much more efficiency in your motor/prop combo.

This one I messed around with and was getting 24 minutes on a 4s 5ah battery. The props are 16" and the motors are 390kv.

Compare that to the racer, which has 6" props and those run at 2000kv

Big props = 6,200 rpm
Small props = 32,000 rpm

And... for the slow types, the longer your struts are from body to motor, the more inherently stable it'll be in flight/hover (if I'm absorbing stuff correctly).

Typically yes, however the small ones can be just as stable if well tuned. Really the only reason to go with longer arms is to have the clearance to swing larger props.

I've been eyeballing some of the micros and such, they do appear to be pretty stable too. Amazing what the electronics are capable of these days.

You guys better quit messing those things. I've seen the commercial where they are everywhere and attack the people.

Just drive an Audi and they won't attack you

I prefer to be the one controlling the attack.

Now how about if I zip tie a spear head to it and bonsai run the hogs down...... Though we'd need some of Dan's daytime hogs.

Ya know? Me thinks Dan was on to something when he named that little guy "Chopper". Sounds prophetic to me. Spearing Happy Meals with your quad-copter sounds like fun... good Go Pro action right there.

Don't give me any ideas guys. I do say this...I fully intend to harass ( define harass) hogs with one to see how they react and hope to get it recorded. lol
Better do it before they outlaw that too.
