It's for gophers, it has a door at each end that they push in to get under it and go in then the door just falls flat behind them. Last week I had a chicken bone in it and a fox flipped it around until he got the bone out but why the rat went in there I don't know.

Of course that would be too boring...I have him in the trap in the yard with a game camera on it to see if I can attract a hawk or fox just for some pics. lol

So a hawk came and killed him, so I threw him out to him for his reward. Only 1 picture, batteries are low I think.

Funny....I had loops tied to the top of that trap to catch hawks and I cut them off!
