240 lb Boar Before The Storms

Man, I really like hunting in sketchy weather. It just adds another interesting facet to the evening. I was out watching a wheat pasture for hogs while watching the clouds roll in, lightning, and checking the storms' progress on my phone. I finally spotted a lone, depredating boar with 30-45 minutes to spare before it looked like the storms would hit and so I went after him. No necropsy this time as the storms did not cooperate. I was able, however, to put the Pulsar Trail XP50 to good use for this hunt...

I like that scope. Are the crosses caliber specific or some type of ballistic compensating markers ?
Just curious as to how that reticle works.

The Trail seems to be a good scope but not even close of your IR MKIII. Good video and shot, as usual, but be careful with lightnings and rifles on your hands ;)

Perfect shot on your big boar Brian.
Can sure understand not wanting to hang around with a storm bearing down on your location.
Vid and photos tell us everything without the scalpel work this time. Excellent work!

It is a graduated reticle not tied to any caliber. Can't say I ever had a caliber for which a commercial drop reticle was designed ever actually have my bullets impact where it said they would, LOL.

Right, it is a 1.6x scope. It isn't as good as the IRH MKIII and isn't nearly as expensive either.

Nope, the big screen was on 1.6x and the small screen (PiP) was on 3.2x.

Nice kill! Did it feel weird not slicing him to pieces?

Nice, sweet sound on those shots. Sometimes a feller just needs to shoot/run.
