My hunt this week started off with doing some calf wrangling. I showed up at the property and discovered calves out on the road. I could not originally get in touch with the rancher and so chased the calves around for a while until they hopped back through a hole in the fence. The rancher was in another county, bailing hay and could not come anytime soon, as it turned out. I wired the errant strand of barbed wire back to the t-post, took pics and sent them to the rancher, explaining the barbed wire needed to be retightened (which he did the next morning). And for my efforts, the fates smiled upon me.

The game cam said I had a nice sized boar coming in...if I stayed long enough. The boar actually showed up much earlier than I expected, but showed from down wind of me. I was set up in a natural blind of briar and a big tree to watch the feeder area, but was not set up to be able to readily pivot to shoot behind me without making noise. So I just watched the hog and hoped it would continue to the feeder, but he was suspicious and kept sniffing the air and turned to leave. At that point I brought the rifle and sticks around, making a racket, and the noise apparently piqued his interest and he turned to face me....

Patience and luck are two good things to have when you're after hogs.
Nice shot, and thanks for the informative video!

Not that I'm planning to make any bullet changes, but it's always interesting to learn about other options.

Lookin' like that very first kill with this bullet was just plain, bad luck on judging performance. Beginning to work similarly to the SST, is it not? Good shot and additional testing.

Good shot and good video. I like the information on the bullets. Thanks for the effort that goes into all of that.

Short circuit in the CPU, emergency shutdown. Kudos.
