I heard the angle of the plow disks and the material leads to more ricochets, any truth in that?

They can, and don't shoot them with FMJ's or bonded bullets. A fragmenting bullet works the best.

I am having a difficult time justifying a 12 hr drive each way for a 1 day meeting even as much as I want to meet you guys. Even if I could drive it in 1 day each way I would be worn out for 1 or 2 days after.
