I really don't like hunting in the rain, but it looked like scattered showers and while I had hoped they would taper off, they actually intensified through the evening. I saw a lot of hogs, mostly only properties I don't hunt, but they were definitely out and enjoying the showers.
So I hoped to really hunt between showers. Turns out, that was short lived and the rain was pretty constant over my area. While I spied the hogs, it was coming down pretty hard and so I thought I would just hang out until it stopped. After an hour, I realized it wasn't going to stop anytime soon as the storm kept building in place. So when the rains tapered a bit, I took off after the hogs. They had actually closed the distance to me in the hour that had passed.
First shot hit 2 pigs. I didn't even see the 2nd one until it reared up, wounded. Somehow, that surprised me and I had trouble making solid hits on the hog until it presented its backside and I was able to take it down and finish it off.
Neat peppering wound on the 2nd hog...
