NFA and trust question

So I have all my trust paperwork filled out. I am ready to buy my first suppressor and I have it picked out. I am also ready to ship off my lower to be engraved for an SBR. My question is about the location engraved on the lower. Should I wait to do all this until after I find out if I'm going to move or not? If I engrave my lower now with my current city it might not stay the same come next year. What happens when you move and the city on your lower is no longer the city you live in? Does it matter? Do you need to have the engraving changed somehow?

I'm no expert, but I believe you only have to have the name of the trust engraved. Not the address of the trust origination. HD Fireman should be able to give you a definite answer when he checks in.

I had heard that too but never confirmed it and I have also heard no matter what you have to put the city on there

Name of the trust and city/state need to be engraved on the receiver.

If you move, no problem. As it's the manufacturer's (you) address at time of manufacturer that gets marked, not their current location.

Hope that helps.

That helps. I'll just send my lower off and get it done

If you move do you need to change address on the trust, like write it in or go back to the attorney?

You definitely do not need to re-engrave the firearm. However I do suspect but I do not know for sure that you need to keep the address on the trust itself up-to-date.

I believe city state where the SBR is manufactured (by you) at the time of registration.

And I was trying to agree with you with a further point of clarification. Not tell you you were wrong at all.

it would be a huge pain if you had to remove the old engraving to change the city on a lower. Now I just need to pick which lower im going to SBR and get it sent off for engraving. Then comes the long wait

Grande is correct. The manufacture on the form 1 is the original manufacture of the receiver not you. Match it with your form 1 and only name, city and state needs to be engraved.
