and welders gloves...darn that looks like it hurt!

Just a flesh wound......

That was the same day I flew this one. Excuse the vibration in the video, it's a constant battle with these vibrating machines. This makes for a fun tour of one of the properties I get out to chase hogs and coyotes on a few times a year. I was riding shotgun in the 4wheeler you see in the video.

See above..... welder's gloves or any glove would work well. Unfortunately I forgot to disarm the flight controller before I picked it up and I bumped the throttle. So it spun up into my finger. Still took less time to heal than the cut I gave myself with my wife's Cutco knives.....

As for scouting ahead, it's really great for that. I don't have any video of it, but most of the animals don't seem to know what to make of the buzzing so they don't run off. The cows have given me more than one dirty look though. You have to watch out for those heifers though.

well you see animals off in the distance you can go higher too then pull away to do your stalk. Good deal right there.

Ya, the "go stick" can be a little touchy.

My cats aren't any happier with these things. As soon as they hear a motor spin up, they run off to another room.

LOL... they don't like helium balloons with ribbon tails either. Ok, so, the rest of the story is, you tape the ribbon to their tails... and when they realize an alien is following them, they go into warp drive. Under tables/chairs... and kick the afterburners in when they see the alien is locked on and they can't shake it. LOL My ex had two cats. I'm easily amused.
Please video these attempts for us!! Please!
+1 'dat ! We NEED training videos.

This is what can happen with just a quick spin up at the wrong time.

Trust me... you're definitely not the only one easily amused.

I do have to hide the bobcat kills my the wife seeing them, they don't go over well. All cats in her life are snuggly critters.

Oso, I fell out of my office chair on your first flip! Are you using a screen for FPV or goggles?

We keep pushing it further and further each time we go out there. The possibilities it offer are really tremendous. That long section before we went back up the hill is a large creek bed, almost half of it is not easily accessible even with the machine we were in. Good old swampy snake infested east TX creek bottom. Flying this thing over it gives us the chance to see what's going on in there in a way that wouldn't be possible otherwise.

I have one of those as well. WAY harder to fly than the big ones.

I'm using goggles. At that time I was using http://www.getfpv.com/fatshark-attitude-v2.html. I've now upgraded to http://www.getfpv.com/fatshark-dominator-v2-fpv-goggles.html. Biggest difference is the new ones have a built in DVR and swappable receiver modules so I can change frequency bands if needed.

Actually I am going to cut up the box today and make some little glider planes to toss around
Dan, just to give you an idea that the "toy" you're having "fun" with can really do more than trim your bear rug.....

That's pretty cool! Frank, thanks for the vote of confidence brother! I did order a couple of those key chain super duper spy cameras from China.
My wife divorced me because she thought there were people spying on her with cameras all over the place and apparently I was in on it. I told her she was crazy. Ha...if she knew what I was up to now she would justify her insanity I suppose. Maybe she was prophetic and not pathetic after all. lol

That's some great footage right there. Nicely done. My copter should be arriving in Seattle this weekend... probably be May before I even get a chance to open the box. Have a little one enroute to the job site so I can practice with when I'm off shift. Will spend a few days in Anchorage the first part of April, may get to tinker a little bit then too.

RD, I second guess myself, thought too long and did not buy as I could not find what I wanted for less than $100, or was too confused to buy it. Thought I would wait for you guys to report.

O. M. G.!!! That was some hilarious stuff there Dan. And for the record, I would be with the dog. It's every man/dog/cat for himself in those situations. I had to put the computer down for a while before I could type. Fortunately I wasn't drinking anything or it would be spewing across the room. I sure am glad you got the "easy trainer". My sister-in-law gave me one of those single rotor remote copters last year because she thought I would like it and have fun playing with it. I think the bitch hates me! That is the most frustrating piece of crap I have ever had the displeasure of not getting the hang of. Quad-copters intimidate me four times as much as my other "toy".
