Last Trip with the TAC 30

I have been lazy and put off editing the video for several weeks, but this trip occurred a few weeks ago. I have been using a wildcat caliber based on the 6.8 SPC case necked up to .30 cal. I was shooting Nosler 125 gr BT at 2700 FPS. The hog in the video has been showing up on trail camera pretty regularly and consistently. He is also the first to not go straight down with a high shoulder shot, but he only made it about 15 feet into the thick stuff. Unfortunately it was 5 feet in and 10 feet down to the bottom of a very steep creek. I just didn't have it in me to drag him to where I could get a tape around him for a weight. I have shot numerous lone boars this year all in the 205 to 225 weight category, but this one was a lot more solid and thick and I would estimate him at 250. I know it was all I could do to get his snout out from under some root in the creek bottom. The last critter was what I thought to be another raccoon, but turned out to be a rabbit doing his best to imitate a raccoon at about 100 yds. The effectiveness of the bullet was obvious in the video. It was so destructive I decided a picture would not be suitable for public consumption. Hope you enjoy the video.

He is a solid hog for sure. Nice one! When they are that big and down in the creek it’s hard to get them out for sure. That was some good shooting on the small critters. Good video.

That's a chunk ! Nice shot. Then, blowin' chunks. It's gonna smell ripe around there.

Nice hog.

It’s always good to reduce the raccoons at a bait site.

Wow! I've heard of rabbit populations exploding, but that was literal …

Great hog. Never had any luck whistling them either.
lol, I was just getting desperate. He had already left the field once and looked like he was going to leave for good. I just wanted to stop him for a second, but he wasn’t having any part of it.

I understand. I have squeaked, whistled, and barked. If anything, they usually move faster. I don't carry a grunt tube anymore...
