Sow & Boars

So 10 days before last night's hunt, I hunted my place with the last of some ammo I was testing for Shooter. I was trying to get a 2fer and failed twice. On the first pair of hogs, they never lined up and were skittish and just left for no apparently reason I could discern. These were boars. I did manage to drop this sow...

I filled feeders yesterday and checked the game camera and I still had 3 hogs showing up, a single and a double. So I stayed to hunt. The pair came in and appeared to be the two boars that beat me last time, still a bit skittish, but not as much so.

They didn't want to line up for a 2fer again either, so I opted for a quick double, barely missing the 2nd hog (determined later), but thought maybe he was wounded as a result at the time and unloaded several rounds into him to drop him before he got very far. I never heard a single round hit him, but when I recovered him, he had 12 external wounds (could not ID many as to entry or exit and gave up trying). That isn't how I want to take down a hog, but I didn't want a wounded hog to get away. They may have beat me last time, but not this time...

Nice videos Mr. Brian. Good hogs down. It seems like a while since you did some killing.

Good Shootin'! It's always nice to get a few hogs down, and taking them out more than one at a time is a nice bonus.

Keep After 'Em!

Enjoyed the videos as usual. Glad you were able to get a few down. This crazy weather is making the hogs kinda scarce around my place. Interesting that the one boar was showing no affects of the shooting. ( other than what appeared to be a strong desire to get the hell away from you! )

Yeah, I checked 2 places before I hunted that have beautiful winter wheat fields that appear completely ignored by the hogs and I checked another 4 places I hunt after shooting these hogs and saw no sign of hogs. Similarly, the deer seem rather scarce as well. Odd.

Now, you KNOW (Brian)… you're SUPPOSED to train them to harness up and haul you back to the truck in your two-wheeled buggy there... THEN dispatch 'em at the truck for easy removal. Good/solid kills, happy to see ya killin' again.

We HATE when that happens!! LOL

Good video and good hogs down!! Always good info and attention to detail. ; )
