Short hunt

Spied hog from front of property.

Parked. Walked in about 200 yards.

Came to pair of cross fences with new barbed wire (not crossing without long detour to gate).

Ranged hog. Shot from Fence.

Sadly, no video from my Pulsar. The video recorded a 0 Byetes file. Not sure why, but cannot replicate the issue. Got video from FLIR PTS736 instead. At 200 yards, the hog looked pretty good on the FLIR...

Despite looking like a distant bison, this turned out to be a small boar.

Amazing critters. They can take a lot of punishment. When they go down and kick very much I like to shoot again too. Good hunt! Short and sweet.

The only way it could have been better would have been if the hog had been moving your way and came to you instead of making you walk. But, that only happens in my imagination. Good video, good hog down.

The only way it could have been better would have been if the hog had been moving your way and came to you instead of making you walk. But, that only happens in my imagination. Good video, good hog down.

I am still having trouble getting hogs to jump in the truck bed. Do you think it is because I shoot them first?

Well, are you putting fresh pizza in the bed?
Do you have a step for them?
Do you let them take their heels off first?
Could be any number of things keeping them from being cooperative. Around here, hogs is all far left wing in belief and such, so, any talk having common sense is also a hinderance.
