You forgot your question. Most of what I've read/heard is that one hole isn't held against you, but the second hole devalues the pelt.

I think in other states where their are no other critters to shoot, guys generally hunt specific for predators especially after the big game seasons end. In Texas most guys are loaded for deer or hogs or both and predators are more coincidental bonuses so it's not talked about as much as far as ammo for predators.
