Hog callers

Hi, I’m a new member. My introduction to Lone Star Boars was when I took your advice a few years ago and brought a RIX Storm 3
Thanks for that the scope has helped me kill a lot of pigs. I have since got the Storm 3R and the range finder and ballistic calculator is great.
I’m asking what hog calling gadgets you recommend

Welcome to the fray. Hope you get a reply soon. This place isn't getting the traffic it once did. Another place to reach out is 68forums.com if you find no helpful insight with this posting. I'm not a hog hunter, so not much help concerning your question, however, I do not recall hearing talk of calling hogs in, other than one family in Texas. It's been so many years, I don't recall his username, but I do remember he and his wife had good success with calling. I do remember they have a YouTube channel called "Hog Zombies" and offered up quite a bit of content there. Hope that helps you some.

Thanks for all of that, appreciated

Glad to have you here, Harry. Calling hogs can be hit or miss depending on pressure, food sources, and how the local sounders react, but it’s definitely worth experimenting with if you’re already set up with good thermal.

If you try an electronic caller, I’d start with distress/piglet sounds and keep the volume realistic rather than blasting it. Sometimes they’ll come in curious or aggressive, sometimes they’ll vanish. Let us know what you end up trying and how it works in your area.
