.300 Blackout's first kill.

The 220 round nose just punched through. A squirrel is not a good test medium for that bullet at such low velocities. Something with a little more substance might get the bullet to expand just a little or at least tumble to do more damage.

I don't have experience with a BO. The above is all speculation.

I think subsonic and suppressed the BO is pretty effective, otherwise get a 6.8...but I would like to get one the way it is meant to run.

Yes I have a bolt .308 subsonic but the twist rate is not enough to stabilize the 200+ gr bullets. It is very quiet though! But not auto!!!

all this talk makes me want a suppressor for my 338 spectre. i think that would be a good first suppressor

I think a suppressed AR-10 would be very effective.

Yes I have one on order! But still the .300 Bo beats it subsonic. Only subsonic though. 1 because or twist rate. 2 because it will cycle subsonic.

Supersonic the .308 and 6.8 leave it in the dust.

If I ever get another AR it will be the 308, suppressed or not, unless your experts tell me there is an as effective round for longer distances than my 6.8(300 yds+) that I don't have to reload for and the ammo is as cost effective also.

A friend of mine has a Larue 308 with an ACC can on it. Supersonic it sounds like my 223 with a can. I like the weapon except for the weight.

BTW, I did put his can on my 6.8 and that was SWEEEEEEET!

One more thing. If your going to shoot squirrel's, a 300 BO is great for that. Not much else, but great for that. JUST KIDDING, no hate mails please
