    Vortex strike eagle

anyone running a 1-8x24 strike fire? I'm wanting to pull the trigger on one but concerned about reticle size and brightness, especially in low light conditions. (Basically how does it compare to my eotech reticle) Would be nice if the reticle wasn't always illuminated but I think it is??? Thanks

    I've been back at it

After being pretty quite for the better part of a year and having my pvs14 sitting in my safe with a giant black blob in the tube, I finally decided to get it fixed and get back to killing hogs. I don't keep track of how many I've killed like I use to, I just go out and kill them. I think I've...

Dave that'd be nice if they made it in a lever gun! Waiting for txlawman to chime in as I know he was shooting hogs with a 45-70 at one point.

How's the accuracy out to 100 yards on the 44? Knock down power on a running hog too?

    454 Casull

Yeah that's what I just saw, only a few bucks cheaper than a 45-70. I think a good heavy lead bullet wouldn't go through a hog

anybody have experience with this round? Espically In a rifle. I'm looking to buy a new brush gun. Ideally I want a round that won't pass through a hog as there could be dogs behind the hog but that doesn't always work out. I use a 30-30 now but I want to get another lever action rifle. I'd...

Great buck down and a year long story will

It all started with this buck around December of last year when it was really cold we had seen this deer laying by a tank in the wood line and noticed he was hurt. A few days later he showed up at my feeder and he had been grazed or badly injured fighting. Fast forward to this summer and I...

    Good boar this morning

Had a big hog for about the past 45 days rooting the side of the county road up. We tried when he first started rooting and couldn't find him. Well I thought I'd catch him out in the opening one night and kill him with night vision. Nope. Finally with the cold front we turned the dogs on him. He...

    120SST through a 3.5" tree and into a 220lb boar.

Did he have any shrapnel wounds from the tree? Good job!

    Smart decisions tonight.

That's been the plan all along but it's never worked out! Between them being so spread out and then now last night taking all the time to kill the boar.

    Smart decisions tonight.

Yeah they're back. They've really done the damage on this hay field, they've rooted up probably 15 acres the past 60 days I thought they wouldn't cause so much damage if I backed off and left them alone like everyone else does around here... but no, they want revenge I guess. Nobody around me...

    Smart decisions tonight.

Okay, this is how it went last night, went out like normal cruising the pastures till I found the hogs, I knew where they would be and I had planned on waiting on them if they weren't there but with the storms around they were out early. I parked the truck at the gate and started on a 500 yard...

    Smart decisions tonight.

Smart moves on my part tonight ended with a very tough trophy boar on the ground about 45 minutes ago. It going to be quite a long post and my computer is dead so it'll have to wait till morning. Here's a teaser for y'all, guess the weight on the hog to the left of the dot, don't let him fool...
