Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
I stepped outside to retrieve a package.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
A squeal, a grunt, instantly I knew what was the matter
I sprang into action grabbing the silenced Six8.
Away to the front pasture I flew like a flash,
Turned on the thermal and threw off the safety.
The thermal was aglow black hot
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a front yard with 15 not so miniature hogs.
They were chubby and plump, a right jolly bunch,
And I laughed when I saw them, thinking merry Christmas to myself!
A wink of the eye and a squeeze of the trigger,
I spoke not a word, but went straight to work,
Soon night came alive to the sound of,
pew pew pew, thump thump with eight hogs dead.
And away the survivors flew like the down of a thistle.
I exclaimed, ‘as they drove out of sight,
"Merry Christmas you filthy animals!"
