This is the second part of the series How to Hunt with Nigh Vision. Again this is very basic stuff for the beginner. I have three helmets to compare a tony hawk skateboard helmet I converted, a ops core clone, and the real deal ops core.

I would have to agree the clone works great for what we need it to do. Another great vid TX

Another good video Sir. My only issue is the 6 pack on the upper right still has 6 in it. You disappoint me.

If you're asking about helmets we still carry all brands/types of helmets to fit any budget or need.

It's the shiner white wing beer. I got it for decoration in the man cave. Lol

Funny how differently we think. I didn't see the six pack, but locked on to the model of the last REAL helicopter (huey) on the end table.

Being a cheap-skate i couldn't see going with a $300 helmet, especially after watching TLM review above. Apparently my larger than normal Gourd does not agree with the $38 Emerson paintball helmet and after a couple of weeks of UN-affectionately referring to them as " the torture devices" i had to have a change. Team Wendy makes the best Helmet i have heard from people in the know, so i ordered a $66 set of replacement pads from them. The difference was unbelievable, now instead of only being able to stand it for short amounts of time i could wear my helmet all night without discomfort. They come with a plethora of thin, thick and odd shaped pads to customize it for any melon. So maybe i should have gone with TW to start with but at least i'm comfortable and only out a little over $100. YMMV.

i am still looking for an XL helment. i have 2 different brand clone larges with thin pads that Ident got for me but one is too small the other is just big enough to wear. still uncomfortable. i am going to order a genuine XL OPS CORE next.

my new pads give enough that the chin strap is very tolerable now and it took about 45 min but i tinkered with the pads until it actually fits my head, i can wear it without chin strap unless i look down hard.

I'm with you- 7-5/8 hat size here. Taking the entire head band assembly out (just the shell left) and installing the TW pads worked for me. They say you need 1/2" of clearance on all sides and i had that with the shell only.

The cheap bike helmet I use fits my melon great, I have the straps tucked under the bungee cords for the pvs14 and counter weight pack (white light, and extra 18650 batts) no extra useless weight carried for hunting. The helmet fits so well I dont need the straps.
Been using it for 4yrs. I made an offset mount that clips into the NVG mount but is offset 3 inches to the left so I can use the pvs14 or my ps32 thermal head mounted and not be in the way when I look thru the thermal rifle scope.

But if the cheap helmet is uncomfortable then more $$$ will be necessary to correct this :)
Good thing is we have options :)
