Looking for more info

Did anyone else pick up a MAG Tactical Systems light weight magnesium alloy lower before the company folded? I recently bought an AR 15 that has one and from what little I've been able to google on them they may have had serious reliability issues. I'm a little hesitant to test fire it right now.

I wouldn't worry to much about it. The part that going bang is on top. Not to mention the buffer tube is aluminum, which is weaker than the magnesium lower receiver. As long as everyone thing lines up and it function checks I'd shoot it. Magnesium is used in acft production all the time. Many gearbox's are made from it. One of the drawbacks of using it is corrosion and once it catches fire it's hard to put out
