So I have been contemplating an idea and was wondering others opinion. Hear me out and let’s see if I can word this right. I asked this on another forum and people were less than helpful. So I have been thinking of getting a takedown rifle I can fit in a backpack. I have no specifics on where it will be carried but it might end up in my edc backpack. In Florida I wouldn’t need much firepower and could probably get away with a ruger 10/22 takedown. The caliber conversation comes in to play if I decide to go somewhere else. Right now in my backpack I carry my Tnw aero 10mm. Takes Glock mags, ammo is light and if I ever needed it I would be able to have access to it. I carry my backpack every time I go camping and I also have it with me every day when I go to work. I know most comments is a gun in a backpack does me no good if something large with teeth is coming after me but if I go places I might need it then it comes out. I do always have a pistol on me, usually my 1911 in 10mm or my xds in 45 so that’s a quick access gun. If you were going to head into the woods on a camping trip and wanted a little more firepower but also wanted to be able to keep it out of sight in a backpack what would you get and in what caliber?
