He dropped just off camera

I think this is the boar that has eluded me for weeks and weeks. Seen on camera several times and even shot at several times as well, I think I finally got him. I decided to sit on the north side of the dam where I could watch a tube feeder at the lake. Had a pair of Canadian geese land just before dark. I would check with the thermal every fifteen minutes or so and finally there he was, possibly walked down from the ridge around 8:30p. I hit record, waited for a good broadside then made a good shot just behind the elbow. He ran maybe twenty yards and dropped for good. This way you never know what's going to be out there when you turn on that thermal scope. Sometimes it is a loner and other times a whole sounder has materialized in front of you.

And STAY down !! Nicely done. Always a feeling of satisfaction to find that elusive one which has been taunting you. Those backstraps get a little extra butter.

Looks like a good hog to me...DEAD ! That’s the way we like ‘em ! Good going, glad you were able to get him.

Nice shooting. That'll teach him to keep stealing corn.

You're a patient man.

By my count, on the video he changed direction no less than nine times.

There is no telling what he was going to do; you did well in taking the first clean shot.
