She went down like the Titanic

"runnin' with sasquatch"
I was stalking out in a wooded area when I saw a sounder of 10 or so pigs trot away from me. My usual tactic is to make a slow wide loop to get in front of them. You can't see the pigs through the trees so this time I decided to take a sharp, quick angle to cut them off. I was in some cedar trees so you have to kneel down to see. I took a knee and could see them in front of me through the trees. I could not move so I waited and they slowly made their way towards me. I got a good shot on this sow and took it. She did not run but put up a big fight before she went down. She has some great coloring. The second pig I got on my way out of the property, caught her sleeping under a mesquite tree. She got up and had her head blocked from the tree, I knew if I hit her on her side she would run, but not far. That is what happened, I shot, hit her on her side and followed her about 20 yards where I put her down. btw, on the first sow when I was taking some pictures I heard what I thought were her piglets calling her? They were very close but I could not find them. This is the second time I have heard this after shooting a sow?

That first one looks like she’s got some Hampshire in her. Nice hogs and a good job on them! Good shooting!

Fine sows, both. Nice job. Those two should've been pretty tasty smoker fodder. A good outing, for sure.
