Neat scope. I like the laser range finding feature, easy and efficient to use...

Nice shooting again Brian. I have the XP38 Trail without LRF. What I noticed about your video along with mine is the image in the scope is MUCH better than what you get on video. Even more pronounced than with my MK II.

Very good video. Thanks. I like the PIP feature. And good hogs down too!

Nice scope... I like that low native magnification, and the PiP feature. Toss in a LRF and the ability to record too? What more does a feller need for close in work? (Besides a good stool) And, when a headshot connects, all is just right with the world. Cookies for the kiddos!

I really do like the PiP. I think it is really useful. Some folks are not a fan of it because you sort of have to think differently about how you use the scope, but once you figure it out, I think it is a more efficient way to run things, plus giving you two views at once, which is pretty slick.

Brian,
Do you "have" to push a button each time to get a range or is there a continuous mode?

Corrected response after PM with Mark..

It does have a continuous mode. When running in full screen/big picture, then you don't have a targeting reticle and the LRF reticle isn't zeroed to the barrel. When running in PiP, you still have a targeting reticle in the PiP and then the LRF reticle in the main picture. You get the continuous readout, but again, the targeting reticle should not be used for ranging because it is not co-witnesses with the LRF reticle. The distance being displayed is based on what the LRF reticle is pointed at and sometimes just slight deviations and result in dramatically different distances. You may be aiming at a hog with the target reticle in the PiP, but the LRF reticle is actually targeting a tree 50 yards behind the hog.

Looking at your video the reticle remains in the PIP when the range finder is activated. It's a bummer it wont range on the full screen with the reticle.

A continuous mode while showing the reticle in the PIP would be great if we cant see it in the full screen, but I guess thats next years model.

Good hogs down! I still have a hard time figuring out the distance some nights ...

Hey Brian - was wondering was that the electronic coyote pup in distress call you were using? Which electronic calls have you had the most success with?

When the LRF is being used you range with the box [ ] shown in the large display and use the target reticle in the PIP to aim and shoot. The larger display does show continuous range measurements in this mode. True? Im pretty sure that's what you just said above :)
